Tonight at dinner, Aspen was holding a frog smaller than an inch and saying how hungry he was. I asked her, "Are you a princess and that's the frog?" (We recently watched "Princess and the Frog" in the theater). She said, "Yes, but he's not talking." I asked, "Why?" and she responded, " 'Cause he has a quiet mouth."
In November, Aspen asked, "Does the baby have jammies in your tummy?"
Aspen loves the movie, Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs. In February, after throwing a 20 minute tantrum (over how many squares of toilet paper she could use to wipe), she came out and said, "I don't understand fishing metaphores!" Treycen and I immediately burst into laughter!
One morning in January I went into Aspen's room to wake her up. She stretched and sighed sweetly and said, "I am a beautiful snowflake and I'm flying around in the sky!" I would love to wake up that nicely in the morning!
Years ago when Treycen was maybe almost 2, there was a darling little 5 minute clip on Nick Jr. They played it in the spring. The clip consisted of 4 little birds each smaller than the last. They were all different colors - blue, yellow, red, and pink I think. These birds danced and made music and Treycen loved it when this clip was played! One morning I woke up and came out to the kitchen looking for Treycen. That is when I saw him standing in front of the fridge with the door open and many broken eggs on the floor! I asked him why he had broken all the eggs. He innocently looked up at me and said that he was looking for the baby birds. It wasn't until later that day that I realized why.. one of those clips of those birds came on TV and they were hatching from their eggs! I had to laugh as I was so elated that I had this little insight into his sweet little brain!
